Here Hai Bangkok: My 2-Hour Unforgettable Experience

If you’re a food lover visiting Thailand, you’ve probably heard whispers about Here Hai Bangkok, a local gem that has earned a spot on the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand list since 2020. After hearing so much buzz about this place from a famous Singaporean foodie I found on Instagram, I decided to see what all the fuss was about, even if it meant waiting two hours for a table. Spoiler alert: it was absolutely worth it.

Here Hai Bangkok How to Go

Getting to Here Hai in Bangkok is fairly straightforward. Located in the vibrant Ekkamai area, you can easily reach it by taking the BTS Skytrain to Ekkamai Station. From there, it’s a short walk or a quick taxi ride. I drive in Bangkok so parking is challenging if you know Ekkamai, but DonkiMall is right across the street from Here Hai.

The Wait at Here Hai Restaurant Bangkok

Here Hai opens at 10am, if you can get there before it opens you will be guaranteed to have a short wait. When I arrived at Here Hai at 11:30am, I was greeted by a queue that snaked around the corner. Clearly, I wasn’t the only one eager to try their famous dishes as it was lined with all tourists from Chinese, Singaporean, to Indonesian and Malaysian. I had heard about the wait times, but seeing it in person was another story. Despite the long line, there was a sense of camaraderie among the patrons. We were all there for the same reason – to experience the culinary magic of Here Hai Bangkok.

The staff was efficient and friendly, providing updates on the waiting time and ensuring everyone had a spot. I settled into my place in line, using the time to chat with fellow food enthusiasts and read through the Here Hai Bangkok menu on my phone. The diverse array of seafood dishes, from stir-fried crab with yellow curry to the mouthwatering shrimp with glass noodles, made my mouth water just thinking about it.

Finally, a Table!

After what felt like an eternity, but was actually two hours, my turn finally came. I was ushered into the modest yet cozy dining area, where the aroma of freshly cooked seafood filled the air. The excitement was palpable at Here Hai Michelin, and I couldn’t wait to dive into the menu to learn why.

The Here Hai Bangkok Menu

The Here Hai Bangkok menu is a seafood lover’s dream come true. I started with their signature crab fried rice. The dish looked more like crab with a side of rice. It was piled high with crab meat! My family and I ordered the Medium size and it was enough for the 4 of us.

Next up we had the crab omelette which wasn’t fully cooked so the egg was runny and complimented the fried rice. We also ordered the fried mantis with garlic which was super tasty. We finished our journey with the giant river prawn filled with shrimp eggs. The seafood sauce was to die for and went great with every dish.
