Just a few miles from Page, Horseshoe Bend is an awe-inspiring natural formation where the Colorado River bends in a perfect horseshoe shape. This iconic spot is easily accessible via a short hike and offers spectacular views, especially at sunrise or sunset. Here are some tips for enjoying Horseshoe Bend which is not part of the National Park Service so the America the Beautiful annual pass does not work there.

Tips for Enjoying Horseshoe Bend

  • Hiking: The hike to the viewpoint is about 1.5 miles round trip on a well-maintained trail.
  • Best Viewing Times: Sunrise and sunset offer the most dramatic lighting and fewer crowds.
  • Safety: There are no railings at the viewpoint, so exercise caution near the edge.
  • Pets: Are welcomed on leash but be mindful to clean up after them
  • Bring Water: Temperatures can get quite high so make sure you bring along some water to stay hydrated!

We liked the Best Western Plus at Lake Powell which had comfortable rooms and breakfast was included.

Dara Thai Express

After 12 hours of driving all day from Los Angeles, we needed some good ole Thai food so we stopped by Dara Thai Express. The food was decent, a little westernized but it still hit the spot.

Paco’s Tacos or El Tapatio

Funny story is when we were headed back from our Antelope Canyon X Tour, we wanted to grab some Mexican food at El Tapatio but I accidently made the turn too soon and we ended up next door at Paco’s Tacos. I didn’t realize till after we ate that it wasn’t El Tapatio. Anyways here’s the correct address:
